Sergio Mora

(1975)

Fun, colour and the appealing aesthetics of vintage cartoons. Spanish artist Sergio Mora brings them together in formats ranging from large-scale paintings to comic books and hand-crafted figures. Original creations like Botijoman, the intergalactic water jug, characters from popular culture and Spanish stereotypes such as flamenco dancers can all be found in Sergio Mora’s visual imaginings.

Also known as `Magicomora´, he is based in Barcelona where attended the Llotja School of Art and Design before starting a career in illustration. He has collaborated with the designer Philippe Starck on interiors for restaurant projects with the celebrity chef, Jose Andrés. In 2016 Sergio Mora was awarded a Latin Grammy for the artwork on El Poeta Halley, an album by Spanish band, Love of Lesbian, and in 2019 was included among the 100 best illustrators from around the world in Taschen’s The Illustrator.
