And we’re back climbing walls. Is the comeback of one of our favorites: the Walls and artistic interventions Program with some of the most internationally recognized artists. We’ve walked Madrid’s city center up and down with our eyes looking up high to catch the best walls to embellish our city. This is what’s coming up.

GVIIIE
3 Almendro street
Presented by La Causa Galería
For years Gviiie paints in whatever surface he finds. Paper, tables and walls. His beginning in graffiti was during his teenage years, combining it with Graphic Design studies in Madrid’s Escuela de Arte 10 and in 2013 he finishes Cinema Studies in the University of Arts London. Back in Madrid he reconciles with painting by publishing sketches in the politic satire Spanish magazine Mongolia. He goes back to painting walls and developing his characteristic neo-rupestrian style until today. In 2016 his animation short film ‘Abayomi’ is preselected to the Spanish Premios Goya. In 2019 he’s invited to participate in different Street Art festivals around Europe and Gviiie presents his first Solo show with his studio work.

ZEST
40 Lavapies street
Presented by Le Feuvre & Roze
Franck Noto aka Zest discovered graffiti when he was eight years old. After his first attempt he started spraying and experienced graffiti as style of expression. The TDM crew led him to create murals from New York to Noumea through European capitals. Being a self-thought artist he eventually started painting in a studio around 2000. Since his debut Zest has been part of many group and solo exhibitions around the world. Zest’s signature is found on numerous murals around the globe like: Toulouse, Montpellier, Buenos Aires, Las Vegas and Zaragoza. The design and fashion world crossed his path, which resulted as collaborations with Philippe Starck, agnès b and Uniqlo. He left the figurative and graffiti code style to a more contemporary, abstract and cubist direction of art. The energies found in different disciplines are translated through the use of basic shapes and primary colors, seeking harmony in between them.

EVER – NICOLÁS ROMERO
19 Embajadores street
Presented by B-murals
Nicolas Romero aka Ever was born in Buenos Aires, where he currently resides. In the late 90s he became part of the graffiti scene of his city and evolved creating a personal pictorial style. The artist prefers to dialogue in public spaces where he pursues a research that criticizes current reality and in which politics and philosophy merge. Man and the human body are the center of his works that portray the great characters of past history, but also common people or his family. Ever blends abstract and figurative images in bright colors for the consequences of his earlier beginnings with lettering graffiti. For Nicolas intervening a common space is a political action and he might not change the world, but can change people, and these for him, are the only ones who can change the world. In recent years he has participated to Public Art projects and festivals in South America, USA, Oceania and Europe, where he painted large murals.

D*FACE
21 Embajadores street
Presented by StolenSpace Gallery
Undoubtedly one of the UK’s most prolific street artists, D*Face has occupied the forefront of his practice ever since his initial breakthrough in 2005. Instantly distinguishable and flawlessly executed, his work upholds the vibrancy of Pop, whilst injecting it with a signature dose of satirical subversion that has become synonymous with British street style. With countless murals and numerous sell out shows dotted across the globe, D*Face is undisputedly one of the most international street artists working today. Such a global reputation however would not have been possible without the artist’s earliest beginnings on the streets of East London where he helped to shape the category of Street Art and where his studio remains based today. It was here that the many concrete facades of Shoreditch offered the perfect canvas upon which the artist was able to realise his creative potential and ultimately shape the area into one of the global centres of urban street art. Such a synergy of city and artist is one rarely seen to such a degree and classifies D*Face as one of the most important figures working in British street art in the twenty-first century. On top of solo exhibitions, global mural commissions and a host of secret projects, D*Face also runs his own London gallery, ‘StolenSpace’, which hosts numerous sell out street art exhibitions on an annual basis within the heart of East London. In more recent years he has also begun a new venture into motorbike design with his ‘Rebels Alliance Motorcycle Company’, similarly based in London’s east end. With so much in the works, it’s hard to say what’s next in store for one of the UK’s most eminent street artists.
