Agustín Esteso
(Spain, 1984)
Agustin Esteso (1984). Trained in graphic design and advertising creativity, the Spanish artist has worked more than 15 years in the fields of design and illustration, having developed in parallel his personal projects always linked to the world of art. His recent work focuses on contemporary sculpture based on the ancient technique of hand-forged iron.
His sculptures are a combination of cuts, folded and forged figures that form this collage that shows a perfect mix between contemporaneity and craftsmanship. Esteso plays with the iron like a paper. His creations are halfway between the naif, the figuration more primary and the pure aesthetic. Sometimes weird, his sculptural figures have an aesthetic of their own, the result of the knowledge acquired by the artist throughout his career in various fields such as design, illustration, ceramics, photography or mural painting.
