Amalia Angulo
(Cuba, 1980)
Born in Havana, Cuba, in 1980, Amalia Angulo grew up in a creative household, with her father as a sculptor and her mother a multifaceted artist excelling as a contemporary dancer, choreographer, and painter. In 1994, Angulo and her family left Cuba, relocating to the Dominican Republic, where she spent the next 20 years of her life.
In the Dominican Republic, Angulo pursued her passion for art and design, graduating from Altos de Chavón, the prestigious School of Design affiliated with Parsons School of Design in New York.
Over the years, Angulo has exhibited her work internationally, with shows in the United States, Spain, the Dominican Republic, England, Germany, and Belgium.
In 2017, she moved to the United States and settled in the Hudson Valley area, where she continues to live and work to this day.
