Borja Colom
(Spain, 1998)
Borja Colom, architect and painter born in Mdrid in 1998. Hiswork stems from a philosophical study of architecture where the function of
space is born from the need to experience it.
Based on this distorted perspective of space and treating color as a fundamental element of the composition, Borja Colom's work seeks to turn the canvas into a window, a threshold, not only interacting with the viewer of the work but also with the space in which it is situated.
This bridge between the real and pictorial space, takes water and light as primary elements, two elements that provide life and movement in contrast with a static architecture.
Each of the works that make up this collection provides the viewer with an escape, a disguised passage that invites you to cross the depicted space.
The space is presented as a transitory place conquered by one's own decision and baggage, the prelude to imagination where each door and path hides an unknown space. In much of his work, Borja Colom uses the sphere as an element that inhabits the spaces, providing scale and creating a connection with the viewer.
