(Spain, 1992)
Carlos Pesudo (Castellón, 1992) graduated in Fine Arts from the Universitat Politècnica de València in 2016. At the same university he later studied a Master's Degree in Artistic Production. In 2014-2015 he obtains an exchange scholarship to study at the University of Fine Arts in Budapest, Hungary. In 2018 she moves to Brazil after obtaining a postgraduate scholarship to study at the University of Fine Arts in Salvador, Bahia.
“My work questions representation itself, from the support itself to the iconic sign seeking to generate uncertainty about what is being represented.”
He has several solo exhibitions in Madrid but also Marbella, Prague, Berlin and Dublin. He has participated in art fairs such as Art Brussels, Abu Dhabi Art Fair, Urvanity Art Fair, Estampa, Just Madrid Art Fair and Feria Marte. He has received scholarships for artistic residencies in Prague, Barcelona, Berlin and the Canary Islands.
Carlos Pesudo's work provokes ambiguity and bewilderment. The artist uses elemental forms that run throughout his painting and end up being reformulated and radicalized in his pictorial process. Giving way to an expressive and gestural painting that seems to remain at the gates of the world we recognize, staying at the limit of what is a proposal for representation.
