İlhak Altıparmak

İlhak Altıparmak (b. 1990, Erzurum, Turkey) completed his studies in Graphic Design and earned his Master’s degree of Painting in Düzce, Turkey with a thesis titled “Artistic Approaches on Motherhood.”
His artistic practice adopts an autobiographical and intuitive approach to conflicts surrounding gender definitions and societal standards. His recent works focus on themes such as queerness, identity, and nature (motherhood). While textile materials like thread and fabric are central to his practice, he also works with media such as video and photography, depending on the project.
Ilhak has exhibited his work internationally, including in Austria, Spain and Turkey. Among others prizes and funds, he gained the Artistic Production Fund of Culture CIVIC (a European Union project, Culture and Arts Support Program / Artistic Production Fund) in 2024 with his project Lori Lori which includes textile, video and audio installation.
