Jan Vallverdú
(Spain, 1995)
Jan Vallverdú (born 1995 in Barcelona, Spain) began his artistic career at a very young age, moving from drawing at home to painting murals on a monumental scale. He was attracted by the expressive possibilities and kinetic essence of mural painting, influences that are still present in his practice.
Vallverdú's work explores the complexities of individual existence in contemporary society. Through dynamic figures and expressive gestures, he addresses existential questions and internal conflicts. Attempting to show the contradictions of human nature, with its lights and shadows, through the use of fleeting images that fade into a liminal or transitional state.
Painting acts as a medium for introspection and self-expression, allowing the artist to process his personal experiences and emotions and, at the same time, expand his pictorial limits. His artistic practice is approached from a deliberately meditative process, navigating between intention and accident, allowing his works to evolve organically.
