Julián Brangold
(Argentina, 1986)
Born in 1986 in Buenos Aires, Julian Brangold completed his secondary education at the Escuela Técnica ORT II, specializing in media. Subsequently, he completed a technical course in film directing at the Fundación Universidad del Cine. Throughout his career, he has participated in several clinics and workshops given by artists such as Carolina Antoniadis, Sergio Bazan, Diana Aisenberg, Rafael Cippolini, Tomás Espina, Rodrigo Alonso, Jorge Macchi and Marcelo Pombo.
His work has been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions in cultural spaces such as the Centro Cultural Recoleta, the Centro Cultural Borges, the Marq and the Museo Fortabat. In addition, he has been selected to participate in competitions and awards, including the Proyecto A Award, the Contemporary Art Week of Mar del Plata, the National Visual Arts Salon 2019 and the Andreani Award 2020. Her work has also had international projection, with group exhibitions in Germany, the United States and Italy.
In 2020, he was part of the artist program of the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. He also served as director of programming at MOCA, a museum specializing in digital contemporary art based in New York, where he delved into the use of technology as an artistic tool.
Currently, his practice focuses on the exploration of technology as a central element of creation, research and criticism. In this sense, he experiments with tools such as artificial intelligence and blockchain to explore the internet as a cultural ecosystem, viral phenomena, subcultures and myths that emerge in the online universe.
