Madison Skriver was born in 1988 and currently residing in Portland. Since childhood, she has focused on painting; she wants her pieces to be portals to the surreal, showcasing the inherent mysticism of painting. Symbolism, time, and nostalgia are recurring themes in her work, coming to life through bright and bold color palettes and the juxtaposition of flat graphic elements and stylistic realism.
She attended the University of Oregon, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a program that required an additional fifth year of dedicated studio practice. Madison received two specific art scholarships at the university and graduated summa cum laude in June 2020. She currently works from her home studio and engages in her process with great enthusiasm.
