Manuel León began his training at the School of Fine Arts in Seville, and since 2003 has been showcased in galleries and international art fairs. His work is present in numerous public and private collections. His paintings are created from fiction and are born out of an impressive exercise in listening, reflection and reinterpretation of sevillian tradition under the influence of Baroque artists such as Murillo, Zurbarán and Velázquez as well as 16th Century Dutch painting. Alongside writer Jacobo Bergareche he presented the project "El simposio" (The Symposium) at the Santander Botín Foundation, which gave way to his journey at the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome (2021). Parallel to his pictorial career, he has provided artwork to musical projects related to flamenco and Andalusian culture: Niño de Elche, Rocío Márquez, Pony Bravo and Rafa Almarcha.
