Nicolás Bonilla Maldonado
(Colombia, 1984)
Nicolás Bonilla is a historian with a specialization in Art History and Theory from the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) and a Master’s degree in Curatorial Studies from the University of Essex (United Kingdom). He currently lives in Spain and is pursuing a Doctorate in Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid.
He has worked as a curator and researcher in different public institutions and is currently established as one of the most interesting ceramic based artists of his generation in Colombia. In 2021 he was the winner of the first prize of the 45th National Arts Hall, National Culture Awards (Colombia).
Several of his works are part of important collections in Colombia, among them: Museo la Tertulia, Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín, Museo de la Universidad de Antioquia, Museo del Río Magdalena, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá, Museo de Antioquia.
