Noemi Iglesias
(Spain, 1987)
Noemi Iglesias defines herself as a sculptor with a long-term performance career. She is a clear example of contemporary nomadism: since 2009, Noemi has lived and worked in Greece, England, Belgium, Hungary, China, and Korea. Recently, she has been awarded the European Digital Deal prize convened by Ars Electrónica for her project “The Falling City”, as well as the “Maria de Salamanca” National Engraving Prize from the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Engraving and the Unicaja Foundation Prize for Crafts. Her work has been seen at the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, DG Connect of the European Commission, iMAL Center for Digital Culture and Technologies in Brussels, Electron Festival in Switzerland, the Gimhae Clayarch Museum in Korea, the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art in Japan, the Yingge Ceramics Museum and the MOCA in Taiwan, the LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial and the Galería Espacio Líquido in Gijón. She has had a long presence in the press such as the newspaper ABC, Libération, China Times, Elemmental or Arte al Límite have written about her work.
In 2024 she had her first solo exhibition “Love me Fast” at the Museo Nacional Thyssen Bornemisza in Madrid, as well as at the Museo de Bellas Artes in Asturias, where she inaugurated “Landscapes of Affection” in December.
