Pablo Castañeda
(Spain, 1989)
Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Seville and MA Fine Art from Central Saint Martins University of the Arts London (2015-2017).
As the artist himself explains: My artistic practice revolves around the intersections and emerging divergences when comparing painted and digital images, addressing issues related to their materiality and the influence that the medium exerts on our ways of understanding and interacting with different types of images. In some of my recent proposals, the emphasis on formal aspects and the play with matter leads to dispensing with the represented image. However, these resources are usually combined with fragments of more or less recognizable images, so that the balance between presence and representation is not usually broken in favor of one or the other. In this way, my painting can be simultaneously understood as an object, process, trace, image, and subject.
