Rubén Martín de Lucas

(Spain, 1977)

Interested in the relationship between humankind and the territory of a planet, the Earth, which transcends us in age and over which we have a strange and intense feeling of ownership.

Through actions in the landscape, paintings, audio and video installations, Martín de Lucas shapes a committed and critical discourse with our way of inhabiting. The distancing from nature, the displacement of wildlife or the illusion
of ownership over the territory are some of the subjects
that make up a rich body of work with a strong conceptual character.

In 2015 he began his solo career after graduating as a Civil Engineer in 2002 and being one of the founding members of the collective Boa Mistura with whom he worked until 2015.

His solo work has been widely exhibited in galleries in Germany, France, Belgium, Spain and the United States. In art centers such as the Lianzhou Museum of Photography in China, Le Cent-Quatre in Paris, the CAB in Burgos,
or the Kunstverein Augsburg in Germany. As well as in photography festivals as in Portugal, Finland, Nigeria, France, Italy and Uruguay.
