Silvia Lermo
(Spain, 1986)
Silvia Lermo (San Fernando, Cádiz, 1986) always places us in the salt flats, an apparently neutral place for the spectator, who will only see the white of the landscape, without finding, on the road map, any point of reference to be able to understand where we are. The artist seems to overcome her indolence in the face of her emotions, confronting her memories over and over again, transmuted into work, translated into situations that each of us must interpret without understanding how to match them.
The only thing that will be clear to us when we face her work is that the artist is infinitely shy, introverted, jealous of herself, while at the same time generous with the spectator, who is allowed to get to know her in images; images that represent her fears and doubts.
Her work is present in important public and private collections such as: Nautilus Lanzarote, Diputación de Cádiz, Universidad de Sevilla, Ayuntamiento de San Fernando.
