SRGER
(Spain, 1983)
Sergio Gómez (Seville, 1983) belongs to that group of contemporary artists more interested in contradiction, in raising questions, than in providing answers. From the subtle combination of recognizable elements with other purely abstract ones, they show themselves as cynical dissidents of the way they process a discourse based on failure/success/correction, almost in a Gödelian sense, from incompleteness. Unusual pilgrims who embrace imperfection as a sign of identity, calling into question - questioning - the finished/unfinished dyad of the work of art and establishing impermanence as a necessary condition of existence, as well as of the pictorial act.
