Sydnie Jimenez was born in Orlando, FL and spent most of her childhood in north Georgia. Much of her work centers around the representation of black/ brown youth and self-expression as a form of protest and care to protect against a Eurocentric society founded on white supremacy and colonization. She received a BFA (2020) from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is a recipient of the Windgate-Lamar Fellowship (2020). Jimenez is currently a long term resident at the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts.
