Violeta Maya's relationship with painting flows strongly because it is intimate and, in a certain way, functional in her life; far from explicitly alluding to current issues or seeking a justifying discourse, Maya approaches the pictorial act as a genuine and personal form of escape, an escape route that allows her to leave the exhausting and confusing cycle of everyday life and the overdose of stimuli and images in which we live. It is in the pictorial action that Maya can consciously manage and focus her concentration. It is an almost vital link with the medium. Her approach is not dense, but rhythmic. It is not premeditated or thoughtful, but it springs up quickly and at the same time is able to condense long feelings or sensations.
