The Spanish brand CREATE of home design appliances, joins the art week with UVNT Art Fair to give life to ‘Homebeat by CREATE’ an immersive installation that fuses art, design and technology inside the fair.

Through this collaboration, the brand reinforces its link with the art world, integrating its innovative products in a space that transcends the functional to become an immersive artistic experience.

In this installation, CREATE's Art Matte TVs transformed into works of art, turning the technology into a living canvas, projecting the works of the artists participating in the Digital Art Programme: Volcia, Sophie Koko, jackasswedge, Gabriel Massan and BORA. In addition, a DJ set the rhythm of the ‘Homebeat by CREATE’ space where music accompany every interaction and journey within the fair.

To give shape to this vision, the installation featured a special collaboration with international artists Richard Woods and Fabio Viscogliosi (Proyecto REME). Together, they merged their styles by combining Woods' distinctive designs and furniture with Viscogliosi's visual narratives and wallpapers.

Richard Woods

Richard Woods (b. 1966, Chester, England) graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art, London in 1990, where he trained as a sculptor. Woods is well known for his architectural installations and re-surfacing of structures that propose an absurd twist on the cult of home improvement and DIY aesthetics. Cartoon-like decorative surfaces, bold patterns and vibrant colours characterise his works.

Woods has been commissioned to make a public sculpture in Lower Grosvenor Gardens, London (2020), completed a major architectural commission in South Korea for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, designed an interior for the Comme des Garçons’ flagship store in Osaka, orchestrated the mock Tudor overhaul of a private residence in New York and transformed the interior of Cary Grant’s former Hollywood residence for its new owner, Jeffrey Deitch.

In 2003, his re-paving of a cloistered courtyard was the centrepiece of The Henry Moore Foundation’s exhibition at the 50th International Venice Biennale of Art. His works are held in major collections including the Saatchi Collection, London; Arts Council England, London; Victoria and Albert Museum; London; British Museum, London and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
Fabio Viscogoliosi

Fabio Viscogliosi, born in Oullins (France) in 1965, lives and works between Lyon, France and Geneva, Switzerland. His artistic practice is focused on painting and drawing and inspired by different influences like comics, literature, burlesque cinema or graphic design. His artworks are usually untitled or named after songs and quotes from his favorite books and movies.

Actually, the sentence by Robert Bresson “Not to use two violins when one is enough” is also a good statement to describe his work as an artist. He has shown his work in places such as the Museum of Contemporary Art (Lyon), Museum of Decorative Arts (Paris), Galerie du Jour – Agnès B. (Paris), and the Intermediatheque in Tokyo. He also published several novels in France, such as Apologie du Slow (Stock, 2014) or Mont-Blanc (Stock, 2011) which has been translated to Italian and Japanese.

He received the Prince Pierre de Monaco award for his book Je suis pour tout ce quiaide à traverser la nuit (Stock, 2010). He also made comic books (Da Capo, L’association, 2010) and art zines, like the Belvédères series in duet with Luca Retraite. As a musician, he has recorded several albums and has collaborated with artists like Amedeo Pace (Blonde Redhead) or Vanessa Paradis.
