Born from the collecting impetus of the couple César Jiménez and Lola Martínez. It currently brings together more than 70 pieces of painting, sculpture, and photography, both by established artists such as Marina Abramovic, John Baldessari and Imi Knoebel, as well as emerging and mid-career artists. With the aim of developing collecting and promoting contemporary art, the fruit of the couple's years of collecting is exhibited in temporary exhibitions that are completely free of charge.
Since 2019, Casa de Indias has been developing a non-profit programme of artistic residencies with which they try to build bridges between new talents and the main distribution channels in contemporary art; as well as motivating new collectors.
In this fifth edition, the Urvanity Art fair collaborates with Casa de Indias in this search for new names that promote collecting through an Acquisition Award, announced at the fair’s Preview on 27th May. The winners, chosen from among the artists participating in the fair, will become part of the Collection.
"Valuable" by Johan Deckmann, represented at Urvanity 2021 by Badr El Jundi, has been acquired by Casa de Indias.
