Gabinete de Dibujos
()
The Gabinete de dibujos has been located since 2020 in the old bus station in the Ruzafa neighborhood of Valencia, after eight years of functioning as a unique laboratory for drawing experimentation in a space of almost one cubic meter.
It is part of the Consortium of Contemporary Art Galleries and LAVAC. It is an art gallery dedicated to contemporary drawing, understood in a very broad sense and without complexes, which does not want to be limited to the support on paper or deny the color.
It began its journey with the exhibition "Malva y asfódelo", a manifesto in defense of a certain idea of Nature as a source of inspiration, a motive for reflection and a reason for activism in times of climate emergency, built collectively with its six collaborating artists: Nieves Torralba, Felipe Ortega-Regalado, Roberto Mollá, Manuel Antonio Domínguez, Ernesto Casero and Santiago Talavera.
After its inauguration it has maintained a program of three/four annual exhibitions, has expanded its staff of collaborating artists to America Sanchez, ESCIF (Nacho Magro Huertas) and Susanna Inglada and has participated in its first fair, the Drawing Room Madrid in 2022. In 2021 it won the Award for Best Exhibition of the Valencia Open granted by the Generalitat Valenciana, with Santiago Talavera's exhibition "El pasado habrá sido un planeta extraño" (The past will have been a strange planet).
