Gabinete de dibujos
(València, Spain)
Gabinete de Dibujos is an art gallery dedicated to contemporary drawing, understood in a very broad sense, without technical or material limits, with the power to reflect on the challenges of the contemporary world and raise issues that affect us as a society and as individuals, as well as being the tool par excellence for the conceptualization, composition and creation of artistic work. One of the aspirations of the Gabinete de dibujos is to function as a mediator/communicator of the ideas and work of its artists, especially when conceiving, planning and producing the assemblies/staging of each exhibition, hand in hand with each author and always reaching consensus on ideas and solutions to the problems that arise. It has been in Valencia since 2020, presenting in its space around four exhibitions a year. It has participated in the international fairs Drawing Room Online '20, Drawing Room Madrid '21, UVNT'22 and ARTESANTANDER'24 and among its collaborating artists are Tania Blanco, Antonio Ballesteros, Ernesto Casero, Manuel Antonio Domínguez, ESCIF, Susanna Inglada, Ignacio García Sánchez, Roberto Mollá, Lara Ruiz, Santiago Talavera, Nieves Torralba and Ignacio Uriarte. It has been a member of the Consortium of Contemporary Art Galleries and LAVAC since 2021. It has participated three consecutive years in Abierto Valencia, the season opening event of the Valencian galleries, where it has received the Best Exhibition Award granted by the Generalitat Valenciana on two occasions. In 2021 with Santiago Talavera's exhibition El pasado habrá sido un planeta extraño and in 2023, with Tania Blanco's exhibition Incautaciones. 36 dreams of a summer night, forming part of the two juries personalities such as Núria Enguita, Sonia Martínez, Lorena Martínez de Corral, Ángels Miralda, Julia Molandeira, Tania Pardo and José Luis Pérez Pont.
This year, having presented the exhibition Correspondencias de Ignacio Uriarte, with Sonia Martínez, David Barro and Alicia Ventura on the jury, it received a Special Mention for Outstanding Artist and a Kells Collection Acquisition Award.
Gabinete de Dibujos has managed to place three of its artists in the Col-lecció d'Art Contemporani de la Generalitat Valenciana, as well as in the Solo Collection in Madrid, the ACB in Santander, the Masaveu Collection, the Kells Collection and others. The Gabinete de dibujos team is formed by Consuelo Vento Martí (València, 1969), PhD in Fine Arts from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia and Luis Urdampilleta (Tandil, 1964), with a background in architecture and thirty-five years dedicated to the framing, conservation and production of art in GRIS, framing studio.
