Gallery Afternoon

Gallery Afternoon first opened its doors in 2021, in Samcheong-dong, Seoul's central art precinct in Jongno-gu, Korea's central administrative district of over 600 years. The list of young painters presented at the gallery starts with the inaugural exhibition by Heesoo Kim, followed by more new and rising young painters including Seulgi Kim, Jiyoung Park, Qwaya (Saewon Seo), Sohee Ahn, Laksamana Ryo(Indonesia), and Kameko Kameo(Japan). With a keen eye for extraordinary talent, we bring to light and nurture promising artists from the rich artistic milieu of Asia, including, but not limited to, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, and Indonesia. Our commitment is to create an environment where these gifted artists flourish and gain acclaim on the global art stage. Furthermore, our gallery takes pride in being the first to uncover the potential of female artists born in the '80s and '90s from Korea, such as Kim Seulgi, Park Jiyoung, and Sohee Ahn. Unyielding in our support, we have made bold investments, ensuring their evolution as artists and paving their path into major global art markets. Gallery Afternoon's CEO and Director Ami Kim is a former arts and culture journalist of 20 years with Herald Media. From the very beginning of Gallery Afternoon’s establishment, Director Kim focused her efforts and the gallery's resources toward discovering and promoting talented painters in the 20s-30s age bracket in Korea and abroad.
