Lariot Collective
(London, UK | Madrid, Spain)
Lariot Collective is a nomadic gallery launched in January 2021 and founded by Carla Lariot and Luca Sandigliano. The gallery works with an itinerant model and represents emerging artists and new talents in order to promote their work, creating synergy and exchange between different spaces and cities. We promote dialogue and international exchange between art, architecture, design and other disciplines, connecting our artists and our audience, acting as a bridge to keep this synergy constant and becoming cultural agents. Some of the most creative expressions in the history of art have emerged through artistic collaboration. An artist collective is a group of creatives working towards a common goal, united by political, economic, professional or historical circumstances. As a group, collectives offer a way to create impact through projects and exhibitions.
We promote a collective of emerging artists because we trust in the new generation, in their research and talents. We believe there is a new trend in the gallery system that is transforming the art world. Pop-up events in galleries are fast becoming the new model: flexibility, innovation and reduced emissions are key to a sustainable model. Pop-ups allow galleries to expand their program internationally and nationally, testing cities and neighborhoods, and changing the static, traditional model of an art gallery. Lariot Collective organizes temporary exhibitions, a simple way to temporarily increase the gallery's presence while avoiding the commitment of a long-term lease. This model offers flexibility, minimal costs and an additional source of revenue for a new business.
