Idlir Koka

Idlir Koka is a contemporary artist born and based in Tirana, Albania. He holds a Bachelor in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana. Growing up amidst Albania’s shifting political landscape has profoundly influenced Koka’s artistic vision. His work is an ongoing exploration of the varied interpretations of imagery, investigating how collective memory, when lost, leaves a void that impacts the clarity and significance of the present. Through painting and drawing, Koka addresses themes of identity, displacement, and the fading of cultural and shared memories.
